Education
I was born in Zwolle, East-Netherlands (see the map), in 1961, and received my education at the Conservatory of Zwolle from Jaap Dragt. I graduated in 1986 as a church organist and in 1987 as a concert organist (soloist diploma).

After that I attended courses in:

• interpretation of Northern-German baroque organ music with Harald Vogel, Germany
• interpretation of French-romantic organ music with Albert de Klerk, Netherlands, and Kamiel d'Hooghe, Belgium
• improvisation with Gerd Wachowsky, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany
• improvisation with Anders Bondeman, Gøteborg, Sweden

Photographer
After my studies I started working part-time in photography, in addition to my musical activities. Between 1987 and 1993 I worked for several studios taking mainly studio portraits and photo sequences of marriages. I also did the printing in the darkroom. In 1993 I graduated as a professional photographer at the Fotovakschool in Apeldoorn, Nederland, with a first prize for portrait photography.

Norway
March 1995 I emigrated to Måløy in order to work full-time as a musician, thus having time to compose.
