Today was the Big-Tour-Day! We started home at 11:30AM and drove to Åndalsnes.
Here we are at Tresfjorden, one of the fjords we drove past:
Suddenly we sae some Lamas along the way, this is in Søvik:
Måndalen, another fjord we drove by:
The Troll’s Wall!(Trollveggen) We drove past Åndalsnes and here we are with the Trollveggen in background
The Trolls Ladder!(Trollstigen) We experienced mountain climbing by car on Trollstigen, a road
made possible by bold engineers and intrepid road builders
nearly a century ago.
Sheer mountainsides and blue-green fjords make Geiranger and
Trollstigen (Rv63) into national icons.
Great autumn colors:
Gudbrandsjuvet, situated between Trollstigen and the centre of Valldal,is an
imposing system of putholes, which makes a gorge that is 5 meters broad and 20 meters deep:
Roy-Åge and Lord Buggie on the ferry towards Eidsdal!
Here we are with the first view of Geiranger:
Looking towards Geiranger from the other end:
Lord Buggie on the ferry from Geiranger to Hellesylt!
Geriangerfjord is well known for its magnificent waterfalls; Friaren,
De syv søstre and Brudesløret, and also the mountain farms that climbs on the steep mountain sides.
It is a special event to stand on boat deck and feel the dust showers from the water falls.
The tallest of "De 7 Søstrene" has a free fall for about 250 meters.
LB; "Hey, Trolle! Look at the road signs! Do you think we will see some more sheep along the road today?" Trolle;"But LB, haven't you seen enough sheep for today?"
Looking down the valley towards Sykkylven. Soon there is no more daylight:
The third ferry trip is from Sykkylven to Magerholm and then we are soon back home.
