This page is the result of many adventures in the Sunnmørs Alps' amazing scenery. Found nowhere else in all of Northern Europe, this landsqape is indeed something for everyone to experience.

But if you are afraid for high altitudes and prefer "Sunday walks" in your neighbour-hood, you will have to look elsewhere for enjoyment.

The rest of you: Get ready to participate in activities that will change you in a very profound way. A bold claim ? I don't think so.

These mountains have something for every taste. If rock climbing is your main field of interest, step in to the awesome Molladalen, where the possibilities are endless. Experience the spectacular scenery of "Kvanndalen", where "Sætretind" and the glacier below "Kolåstind" engulfs you in a claustrophobic way. Superb views are best experienced (among many others) from "Slogen" and "Rander's Topp".

Feel that special kick when you finally stand on the mountain's peak, (usual after a big struggle) a kick only illegal substances can generate.

"Skiturar i Sunnmørsalpane", by Jon Hagen and Helge J. Standal: This very well written book is the craftsmanship by local ski enthusiasts. It is a book describing rather extreme skitrips, but don't let this scare you. Sadly this book only covers the mountains west of "Hjørundfjorden", but that it does superbly.
Although the book is in Norwegian, the book may well prove a perfect guide to a succsessfull trip in these mountains due to excellent photographs provided by the authors. The book covers 111 various routes and are considered to be a must-have even at trips during summertime.

"Fotturar på Sunnmøre", by Jon Hagen, Helge J. Standal and Gunnar Wagen: While the book above offers a somewhat extreme approach to these mountains, this new book adress a wider audience. In addition to walks in strictly the Sunnmørs Alps region you find routes to well known mountains and sites all over the county.
With 230 diffrents route on offer, this book is an encyclopedia of mounteneering in this region.
A phenomenal book.

"Sunnmøre" by Kristoffer Randers: Written in 1890 by a truly enthusiast. In addition to describe routes in the entire county of "Sunnmøre", the book also offers thorough route-descriptions from the mountains in "Tafjord".
