Instructions
There are two ways to open the main Menu Bar™ at TMP ™. Both menu options list the same links.

Menu 1. The safest option:
Open TMP™ for use with most browsers. This version won't crash. Menu 1 will only open on its own if menu 2 is not already open, otherwise it reopens inside menu 2 as a part of the latter. If menu 2 is open, then close this before attempting to open menu 1. Once menu 1 is open, then menu 2 can also be opened as a separate menu.

Menu 2. The more advanced option:
If you are running Windows (98 2nd ed. or better) & I.E. (6.0++) & are set up to use IFRAMES & Javascript (1.5++), or if you otherwise can handle IFRAMES & Javascript 1.5, then click here: Open TMP™ w/auto hide; & "auto restore"™ (no overwrite). Beware: Menu 2 will crash w/the wrong configuration.

Features of Trygve's Meta Portal™ Menu 2.
1. Auto hide, enabled. The Main Menu bar ™ hides out in left margin when not in use.

2. Auto restore ™ ©/No overwrite ™ ©, enabled. The Main Menu Bar ™ can't be overwritten by any link entered from the address line or by any program or link attempting to use the same window target, but is automatically restored when one attempts to overwrite or close it. This makes it much harder (or almost impossible) for pages linked to to take over the menu bar ™. To still open links from the address line at the desktop tool bar, be sure that another window than the menu bar ™, is on top (in the foreground).

3. Reopen on top ™ ©, enabled. The Main Menu Bar ™ is brought to the front each time one reopens it, even if it was already open and in the background.

4. Inline closing ™ ©, enabled as the only option. As a result of function 2 & 3 the Main Menu Bar ™ can't be closed by most conventional means, but has to be closed by clicking on the "Close this window" link within the Menu Bar ™ itself. In menu 2 most conventional closing techniques like the X in the window corner, the task bar, ALT F4 and CTRL ALT DEL, will only reopen TMP™.

5. Always on top, not yet enabled. I am still looking for a) a way to get the 3 pixel wide hidden "menu bar ™" to always be on top and b) a way that links opened from the address line still will open in another window. If you know how to do either, then please get in touch.

How to use Trygve's Meta Portal ™.
Once you have opened TMP™ & one of its menus: Hold down ALT & click TAB or click on Trygve's Meta Portal™ (E.g."Menu 1","Menu 2"or the latest topic bar you have opened) on the taskbar, to get TMP™ to the front,- then move the mouse to or click on: the left edge of the screen, to display the menu. Menu 2 hides to the left. Hold down Alt+click Tab to get it to the front, then move to or click the left edge of the screen to display it.

How to close Trygve's Meta Portal ™.
Close TMP ™ menu 1 by clicking on "Close menu 1" on the menu itself or by use of the taskbar or Alt+F4. Close menu 2 by clicking "Close this window" at its top/at the top of the Main Menu Bar ™. This opening window can be closed after you have selected one of the options above. Close this window.
