The Tenerife Loro Parque claims to be the "must" of the Canary Islands. One can hardly disagree, although there is also a large animal park in the south of Tenerife called Las Aguilas del Teide, with many attractions including daily displays of falconry and other large birds of prey. Loro parque is located on the outskirts of the town of Puerto de la Cruz. It has many attractions; the worlds largest collection of parrots, plus penguins, gorillas, sharks, jaguars, tigers, dolphins, sea lions and alligators... The attraction is public friendly, one can hardly miss any of the animals when doing the complete tour of the Loro Parque with all its various shows. Don’t be put off by the name, there is so much to see and do not connected with parrots and it really needs a full day to see everything. The Tenerife Loro Parque also has its own website; www.loroparque.com

The most exciting attraction for me was to see penguins for the very first time, one could see them both swimming, sleeping and showering in snow:

Really impressive was the show of the Sea Lions, amazing what they could do with such a simple body :

The pelican, it looks like a statue but it is a real pelican that stood like model close to the tourists :

The dolphin show, also an impressive show :

On the sign in the aquarium it said "Piraña", the description sounded to me like a Piraya :

Finally, the shark. I have seen some sharks before but they were only about 0,5-1 m. These one were big ones which could be seen nicely through the tunnel of the aquarium. One of them even had the sharp, dirty teeth visible.
