26.04: Holy macarony:) Spring is a good time. I feel like I am melting inside as the snow goes away and the leaves are about to pop out on in the woods. Nice...The races are upon us and you can read about them in the events section. Just click the link. It's easy. Else from riding trials myself I am a coach for 5 young female prodigys this year. They all seem eager and into trials so it make is easier for me. We will see if they still like with some more moths with coach Minkens hard hand holding they ears...Neh, just kidding kids. I am ok...
I have come this far into the year without any big injuries so I am pretty optimistic! The back is bugging me every now and then but nothing I can't leave with. I got some inflamation in some ligaments in my right arm, but I expect that to go away itself in some time...
I have been to some good practise sessions with my team mates on the T.R team. My team mates Lars Erik Fremstad and Thomas Schie are both top elite male riders, and with Bennys strict orders I really get challenges. It's great!

08.02: Titt titt, her e æ, sa smørbukk...Hello, I'm back. What have happened since last time? I have just turned 24. I am not concerned about that yet, but I might be, as I feel as childish as ever. My long gone friend has returned from Afrika and we have a lot of joking around to catch up, so there is a lot of playing and laughing going on. There is tonns of snow in Oslo. It is a lot of fun, but when your name is Siri Minken you have to watch out, I can make the most innocent play dangerous. I got a knee in my back while playing in the snow. I couldn't put my socks on myself for 4 days. And it has delayed my ice-hockey ability several weeks already. But I am going to Barcelona in 5 days so it better be good soon. My father and I will have one of our good team trips, going riding like old days. I hope to get two weeks of practisce. I need to get used to my new shining montesa before the season is upon us.

2003:
25.11: The season is over, the snow is here and I tried ice hockey today. Great fun! I rode the last competition of the year on my new bike. It had barerly started it up before I went to the contest. Read about it on events. I am happy about my new Montesa. It is all shiny and pretty waiting for better weather. And me having some time to ride it. The school has gone mad, seems like they want the whole lot of students moving in. I am spending most of the days and evening there. I had a pleasant break last weekend. I went to Trondheim to hang out with nice old friends and had a really good time. Else from that I go to see the physio once every week to try to understand and maybe mend my bended, cracked up and fucked up back. I also get time to some workout at school between the coffee breakes and assignements.

20.10: The season is over and I've already got exams at school. Which is why I have spend most of the weekend at the school. Yeah, great fun. It is getting cold in Norway and I have started to use wool underwear and are pooring tea just to warm my hands. I am about to figure out what bike to ride next year and hope to know within a few days. I am looking forward to get a new bike whatever the brand will be. The old one has done it's job with me. It is still really good, so if you want to buy a very much cherished and loved gas gas pro02, mail me.

30.09: I had a really nice weekend. I was riding motocross both satureday and sunday, and it was great. I was lucky to participate on one of Roy Snellingens training cources, and it was really good. As you may know, Mr Snellingen is a former world ch.ship rider so he has a lot of knowledge to teach to those who wants to learn. I learned a lot so I now know what to work with on practise for the next year!

20.09: Ha dæ vækk ditt spøkæls! I had a real face plant at practise last friday. Both me and my father are not quite sure what happened, it all went quick and was just bad luck. I went over the handelbar and smashed my face in a rock. It didn't turn out that bad: To broken teeth, right side of the face looking like hamburger meat and a concussion. By monday when I got out of the hospital I had my teeth fixed with some plastic, I started recognizing myself in the mirror, I could eat with more than a teaspoon and my brain had stopped shaking. The doc told me to rest and do as little as possible for a quick recovery. I did as he told me. I told the men who are in charge of the team what had happened and how I felt, and that I was optimistic. By wednesday I felt great! A little yellow round the eye and a little soar in the jaw, but else form that good. I knew I would miss the contests in San Marino to be absolutely sure to be 100% for the TdN. But then I got a phone call yesterday who told me I am off the team. Because I am not riding in San Marino and will not get the proper preparation and practise for the Tdn. Holy crap. Me cago en dios, u hear me? I have never heard of taking a participant off the team becuase of a concussion two weeks before the event. I have broken teeths before in section 3 and still finnished 5th in open ladies cup. I have had crashes before but I get up and get over them. And if the girls have to ride European cup the weekend before TdN for the practise, why is there only one Norwegian guy in Valamalenco?... So I am staying in Norway. I am feeling fit so I went for a mountain bike practise this morning as I did yesterday. And then I was downtown watching my crossover club mates doing a great FMX show. I will go riding with Lene Fevang a couple days during the week, hard practise for the Norwegian Ch.ship for teams 4. october. And I will go riding my mx bike. And during TdN next weekend I will..oh well none of your business.

08.09: Tingeling c",) I am charging the batteries today after the championship yesterday. It will be a lot to do at school this week before we head to San Marino the 16.th. A lot of papers should be handed in while we are away but we will try to to them before we go. We is Lene and I. We both do the coaching program at the sport uni.

I am exited already to pack up the van and head south. I just hope both body and bike will make through this last weeks of the season. I am pretty convinced they will. I brought two friends from school to watch the open Norwegian FMX ch.ship on Sartureday night. It was pretty wicked watching Ailo do backflips...You just gotta love it!

12.08: It has been pretty much travelling lately, but now there is a break on a month, suiting good with the start at school. I will try to mend my old bike so it might last out the season. It has been pretty good actually. But it's one and a half year old so I guess I have to accept spending some time doing mechanic jobs...I am going to get my back checked out again as well, see if there something that can be mended there as well...Fingers crossed! I hope to get to ride some mx as well, I havent been on the bike since May!

02.08: Nu jävlar, nu skal det laddas:) I am back home after one month abroad in dusty paddocks with cold showers, if any showers, a lot of heat and sun and quality time with the team chief, old man Minken himself. I really like camping in the van and love to be on the road but one month always feels enough. I start missing comfort like sofas, long warm shower, bigger bed and norwegian bread and brown goat cheese! But that is only positive. I probably wouldn't notice those stuff if I stayed at home.
We did some other nice thing except from trials as well. My father guided me through Paris the monday after Maisse. I liked the old streets of Paris on the left side of the river, just sitting with an espresso and studying the life around me.
We camped at the usually place in Sardent. I had a nice time as always, and got to know some new kind people. The Pearson and Walker family offered a great service around the lap. Those cups of ice cold water and lemon limonade really made a difference and got me through the days:) Well I would not even get to those pit stops if not Tim and Nick had catched me all around the sections...Thank you!
The next two weeks my father and I tried to be tourists and regular campers without paddocks...I think we suits paddocks better. Besides we kept trying to run from the heat. So we ended up in the mountains, and there was NOT much to do there. But at least mr Minken could breathe up there...
The last event was 1300 m above sea level. It was pretty shit to be honest. No fresh vegetables in the shops, no showers, bad info...But this happens from time to time, we get through it! I had a good time. I have tried to learn to speak proper english and I even get most of the australien short cuts of words. My bike ran good after some help from Benny who kindly gave me a smaller main jet. The event started great, I think it was because of the sweet guy and his fruit pastilles:) I rode with Lene because we both wanted super catcher Nick. We had a good time until I retired. I went around beeing angry and sad for some time but then I had a great night going ice skating and hang out with nice people!

24.06: Heeelooo i stoga godtfolk. Summer holiday. Have I got a tan yet? Nope. Been to the beach? Been bading? No, no...The weather haven't really been that nice in Atrå. And whenever it is sun it's still pretty cold. That might be because I practically live on the mountain. I have had a job as an assistent teacher for 6 years old the last 2 weeks, that was a rather noisy and stressful experience! Else from that I haven't been doing much, just been hanging out with friends back home. The practise possibilites is really bad back home so there haven't been any improvements in my riding lately. But I am looking forward to a month abroad on the road with my father. That was the thing I missed the most when I didn't ride last year. First I am heading to Maisse south of Paris for the ladies cup, then to the "4 jours de la creuse" in Sardent. Then we are moving to Asti in Italy for a mx junior fim cup to support Team Norway. The last weekend in july is the second ladies cup, also in Italy.

21.05: I am actually done with the school for the summer! I handed in my paper today. I still have one more exam to pass from last year, a field track thing...So I have to practise on that...Else from that I really am in to motocross theese day so I might change the name of this site soon:) Well, we will see about that. What else? Not much, I am afraid...I will let you know if something cool happens. Stay tuned:)

05.05: Hey again guys! May in Norway, just gotta love that! I went to my first mx training Saturday, a camp for mx girls. We were about 20 girls on full throttle in half an meter with mud around the track. A real blast! In the snow! It was freakin' cold and wet and I didn't have goggles and the snow was slapping my face. But it was so much fin and I know for sure it's going to be a lot more motocross riding in the future.

Else from that I am spending my days in front of the lap top trying to type down some fancy words for my assignement. It is getting slow at the moment and it is hard to keep up the focus. You might say I am struggeling quite a bit. But there are still a couple of days until the 22. of May. Fingers crossed! Anyways! Be right back at you if something nice by coincidence would happen in my life.

26.03: The spring is just around the corner and it feels great. I have a lot of plans and hope to get them done one by one. I have an assignment at school until the end of may which means no classes and I can plan my days the way I like. It is great. I get up early every morning and start the day with work out with my friend Kjersti. Then I spend some time with the project at school before I either ride some in the evening or do something else like spinning, climbing or, soon, ride mx! I decided to follow my desire and seize the day. I have bought a honda 125, 01 model mx bike and some riding gear. I still haven't tried it yet as it need some suspencion repearment and stuff. But I hope to try it out very soon and look forward to learn something!

12.03: New year, new goals, same old body...I am about to get back on the bike. I have made myself a nice trainig programs I will stick to this spring. It contains weight lifting, spinning, trials and stretching. I hope my body will acccept it so I can still sleep at night without agony...The snow is about to melt, for now, and it looks good for some riding the next weeks. I still have my same old bike from one year back and I hope it will keep up with me. I am exited to get out and have a nice time on the bike.
I have been in south spain, Estepona, 3 weeks in February working as a coach for the junior girls in Norway. I also tested some motocross there which gave me an eager to try that more often...But then again, it is up to my back and elbow. Hope they behave properly! Catch ya later. Have fun!

2002:

11.12: I haven't happend much lately so I haven't kept you up with boring details about my life either...But here it finally comes anyway. I had a surgery two weeks ago. My elbow is not really functioning at the moment but it will be good in a while. And so will my back. I can't explain how tired I am of being without the daily practise...It's not good. I have an exam tomorrow and after that comes the holiday!

11.08: I read below that i was really exited about this season, and thought it would be great.....yeah right. The injuries are haunting me down. I have only participated in three races so far this year, and that seems to be it. It all started in april, jus some weeks after my happy diary entry, with a discal hernia (you know, the breakdown of a interverterbral disc and ishias etc??, or just plain terrible backpain, for those who have less medical knowledge...). It got worse in May, and all i could do for three weeks was to stay in bed. After a while i could walk around but, wasn't able to ride until July. I rode for about two weeks, and then: The first weekend of august i got my right elbow dislocated in a crash, so here I am, sitting with my right arm out of function.....

01.04: Yes! I think I am about the happiest girl in Norway right now. I have been on a practise camp with the federation, and that was so much fun! I got a new bike and rode a nordic round in Denmark. We practised in the sections the next day and then we went for more practise in Sweden. The girls on the federation team has got a new coach this year, Benny Athursson. He is one of the best swedish riders and we are very lucky to have him to teach us something. He made nice sections and made it really fun to go riding. I am looking forward to this cooperation! I was looking forward to go riding again, but I never expected to get such a kick! I have been at my parents home for two days now, just to say hello and do some work on the bike and van and then I am going back to a competition in Sweden. Can't wait! I have also never been this exited about a easter holiday before, because that meant the exams are done! I am not happy about the answers I delivered and I am exited to see if I pass the exams or not. I made a lot of effort in front of them, doing noting but read two weeks stright. Read more at the events link about the race in Denmark

03.03: snow, snow, snow...I am always very tired of the winter at this time of the year, but this time it is even worse than normal because I haven't been to Spain...I usually go to spain one month every winter to ease the pain of beeing absent from my bike. Me and my dad escapes the cold and practises like madmans in Catalonia. But not this year, oh no! The school is somehow a little more bussy than I imagined...But I am going to take my time in spain back next year, with interests.

I am having two exams in March, one in physics and one in anatomi and physiology. So I am trying to concentrate and read but it is really hard! It tickles in my fingers to ride trials again and I am looking forward to easter! We are having a practise camp i Denmark the first half of the holiday. Can't wait! The best part about Denmark is the hills! Believe it or not, they have steep, realy steep hills! To stand in the bottom of a steep slippery hill, turn on full throttle and aim for the top, that really is something:D

The season is really just around the corner and I look firward to be in the gsme again. I think the injury in my legs are about to be good as well. The only thing that sucks it that I haven't been practising. A teacher at school told us that athletes normally have a very bad year results wise the first year of the school. And that the year after sometimes are the best year in your career! So I have something to look forward to...No seriously I think it is healthy with a real break so your desire to go riding is just so hughe you don't know what to do.

14.02: Ok folks! Sorry sorry, I have been rather lazy with my updates lately but I have an excuse...I don't have an acsess to my computer in Oslo, I have to go to my parents house..Which I actually don't do very often because I like it in Oslo and my little room on 12 square metres...No offends to the people I love back home!

Most important, I am here now an I am about to give you an update on what have happend since last time. Which is...I am now a student at the Norwegian University of Sports and Physical Education. It is a nice school and I learn a lot of interesting things and many new sports activities. What is bothering me is that I don't get any opertunities to show the people there what I am good at...Hey I am a clown in most of the things we do there, diving and butterfly, handball and salto; give me a break! I wish we rather had some weight lifting or balance classes, that would have been great! I have got an injury due to all the floor and ground avtivities. I am used to have my feet off the ground:) I have got an inflamation in both legs. No one wants to tell me how much time it takes to heal this shit, which makes me kind of worried. But I guess I just have to make the best out of it and make myself comfy at the couch for a while...

You may already have noticed that the trials season turned out to be quite a blast for me. After the Nordic and Norwegian Championships, I had a one month tour in Europe. I had a good minder and friend with me, Henning Hauge-Nilsen. We had my little Fiat Ducato as our home the whole month and it brought us all around: From chilli Norway to the pleasant heat and a great event in Spain. From Spain to rain at the boys euopean champ in Italy, from there to a couple of days with sun at the bike show in Milano. Then straight to more rain pluss wind in La Bresse at the TdN in France. The following morning we went to the French Alpes for a girls training camp with star coaches and freezing nights. And then if possible even more freezing nights followed in Pragelato in Italy at the Women's World- and European Cup...Hiyaa. By the end of the month I must admit I was quite fed up with pasta and paddocks, cold showers and standig toilettes, the incredible small and hard bed and winding roads...You can read more about every single competition on the event link.

The 18.th of November I was at the big happening of the year, the gas gas party in Spain!!! All kinds of motor-lunatics gathered up at les Basses with this nice motor-noise and the good smell of exhaust all day long. And at the end of the day we get prices and greasy catalan food in a huge party tent. That really is something!!! I love it. I even got a picture of Edgar Torrenteras...

The World Champion Team victory had some pretty pleasant benefits. We are the first worlds champions in Norwegian Motorsport, ever! That is actually kind of awesome. Compared to earlier attention, we now got quite a bit. And we hope it made our sport more known in Norway, so that we stand a better chance at getting sponsors and stuff...
