This aircraft took part in "Operation Doomsday". It belonged to 190 Sqdn. and took off from Great Dunmow on 10th of may 1945. Weather conditions this day was terrible and they also had problems with receiving signals from the "Eureka-transmitter" at Gardermoen. It is not really known why the plane crashed, but one theory is that they tried to find a reference point to navigate from. Then they must have gone in too low. There were thick clouds, fog and rain in the area this day.

The aircraft was first reported missing, since no-one had seen it go down. It was not discovered until 21st of June, when a fire started at the crashsite, caused by pieces of glass igniting the grass. In 1995 a large memorial marker was raised at the crashsite. The crew and soldiers rests at Vestre Gravlund in Oslo.
