Victoria
Sogn
Born and raised in
Norway, Victoria Sogn graduated in dance from Follo Folkehogskole
dance high school
in Vestby.
She then studied
at Laban Centre for Movement and Dance, London, UK,
attaining the Bachelor
of Arts Degree with Honors in Dance Theatre,
under the guide
of Theresa Kelsey, Stuart Beckett, Sally O’Donals, Dale Thompson, Laurie
Booth,
Susan Sentler, Lindon
Branagh, Sonia Rafferty, Kerry Nicholls, Ana Sanchez-Colberg.
After having worked
with Sylvie Deluz Company, in Montpellier France,
touring in Europe
and the United States, she moved to Italy where the meeting with Elisa
Barucchieri
quickly led to the
beginnings of ResExtensa.
In 2002 Victoria
Sogn was selected for the Accademia Isola Danza, La Biennale di Venezia,
Venice,
where she studied
under the guide of teachers such as Nigel Charnok, Carolyn Carlson, Josef
Nadj,
Susanne Linke, David
Zambrano, Janet Panetta, Ivan Wolfe, Benoit LaChambre, Andrew Harwood,
being also selected
to represent the academy in Italy and abroad.
During this time,
her work with Elisa Barucchieri led to support and encouragement from Carolyn
Carlson,
Susanne Linke, Inaki
Azpillaga, Josef Nadj, granting the two of them the full endorsement of
the
Accademia Isola
Danza for their summer performances.
Traveling between
Italy, France and Norway,
Victoria has since
been guest of Système Castafiore dance company in Grasse,
France,
Silvye Deluz Company,
Montpellier, France,
and has collaborated
with Ella Fiskum, Oslo, Norway,
returning as guest
teacher in her high school, the Follo Folkehogskole,
and attaining gold
level certification as dance teacher by the Federazione Italiana Danza.
In 2003 she became
the recipient of a Dance Web scholarship for ImPuls Tanz, Vienna, Austria,
and studied with
Susanne Linke, Inaki Azpillaga, Joe Alegado, Nita Little, Jennifer Lacey,
Edna Lima, Ted Stoffer,
Lisa Race, Janet Panetta .
