Our Story

"After 20 years of breeding shelties we pause to reflect on our achievements. Our future looks bright as we continue to build on the foundation of past successful breedings. Here we proudly present a partial list of our accomplishments."

St.Kilda's kennel was etablished in 1985 by Laila and Bjørn Lauritzen. On that time we lived in Telemark, Skien. In 1991 we moved to Hedmark, to a little village called Tynset. A beautiful valley in the north of Hedmark, Østerdalen, approx. 200 km south of Trondheim.

Here is Tynset - the red dot, in the middle of Norway.

And that is where St.Kilda's Shelties live.

It all started with NUCH Macheather's Hanna, which we bought from Bodil and Bob Wilson as a little puppy (Macheather's kennel). Her father was the big star from England, owned by Leeland kennel, Ch Mondurles Bannock and mother was also from England, Lythwood Snowflake.

Time showed us that she was a very special lady both in the showring and in breeding.
She is our start to St.Kilda's kennel
