ISCSG in interview with
Dieter Froehlich
What do you work with in
St.Gallen football club?
Dieter : I am responsible for all organizational and financial matters
within the FC St.Gallen.
How long have you worked for St. Gallen?
Dieter : I joined the board in November 1999.
Have you every played football for St. Gallen?
Dieter : Yes, I played for the second team from 1976 to 1980.
What is your biggest experience with St.Gallen?
Dieter : My so far most remarkable experience was the Swiss championship
title in Spring 2000!
How many peoples works inside the club?
Dieter : We have about 80 people working for the club (beside players of
course), most of them work parttime, some 10 people are fulltime working for
FCSG.
What is St. Gallens hopes for the future?
Dieter : We like to position ourselves in the top 4 teams in Switzerland for
the short and at least midterm future.
How does the club work with younger players?
Dieter : We have a professional team of trainers and coaches who take care
of the top young players on a daily base.
What is your hopes for this season, and how long do you think St.Gallen
can get in the UEFA cup?
Dieter : My immediate hope is to qualify again for the
"Finalrunde" (top eight teams for the championship final in spring
2002). Everything else comes after this qualification, it is too early to
predict right now. What the UEFA cup is concerned, success is heavily
dependent on what team you get next in the coming round. Still I have a
strong belief we will survive at least 2 rounds.
What do you think about a own supporters club of St. Gallen football club
here in Norway?
Dieter : I think it is great to have supporters not only in Switzerland but
also abroad. I hope the fanclub will continue to grow.
Were you surprised when you heard about this supporters club?
Dieter : Yes, I was positively surprised about the existence of your club in
Norway.
Thank you very much for taking time to answer our questions Dieter.
