April 8th, 2003: Second again in Fanta Indoor Challenge

Hedda and I played the second Fanta indoor challenge in Greverud last weekend. This time there were 6 teams participating. The level among the participating teams were much more even this time and we were exited to play. We won our pool quite confident. The first match we won 21-14, 21-12 against Hoem/Høsøien. The other match we won 21-10,21-10. In the semi-finals we won against my good old partner Hilde Schjerven playing with Toril Øyan. In the finals we met Evensen /Lekven. They beat us 23-21 and 21-16. Again we see a quite good potential. We seem to fit each other well and with a little more practice together this will surely be a great summer season.

March 26th, 2003: Second in Fanta Indoor Challenge

Hedda and I played our first norwegian tournament together last weekend. The tourament took place in a new indoor hall at Greverud 15 minutes outside Oslo. There were 7 teams participating. We won our pool quite confident. The first match we won 21-6, 21-5 and the second was 21-10, 21-12. We also won the semi-finals 21-17, 21-13 against Bruustaad/Andersen. Our play were a bit more nervous in this match probably because we wanted to reach the finals to play the second ranked team in norway Håkedal/Tørlen. They are well trained and have since Christmas been practicing with the best Norwegian team Maaseide/Glesnes and the coach for the national team. They got an early lead of 6-1 but we managed to fight back really good but lost the set 21-17. We are proud to be able to acctually win 16-15 after the terrible start. The second set we made more mistakes and lost 21-13. Still, we were quite happy with the result considering our few practises together. We are looking forward to a new tournament the 6th of april.

February 09th, 2003: Third in Gøteborg

Its wintertime with few tournaments in beachvolleyball and therfore it has been very silent on our web site. We are still in action practicing strength and indoor volleyball. In January we also went to Gotenborg to play a indoor beachvolleyball tournament there. There were 20 teams participating and we ended 3rd. Unfortunately we lost a close semi finals 2-1. Hilde will move to Los Angeles in april. I will probably go there in the eastern hollyday for a training camp with a very good american coach. Hilde and I will play some World Tours together next year but I have a new partner in Norway - Hedda Finstad. We will play together the Norwegian ranking tournaments and even some international challenger/sattelite tournaments. So there might be some changes on this web page in the nearest future....
