We found out that the Dutch people arrived at the US soil seeking freedom form the strictly writs of
pastry. Some Dutch people got a visit of an angel. The angel gave the idea to have a fried
donut. The idea with the hole in the middle of the donut, came from a man named Captain Hanson Gregory in 1847. He was enjoying a donut at the helm of his ship when a big storm came
up. Needing the use of both hands, he crammed the donut onto one of the wheel's
spokes, thus creating the hole. |
