Summer Braai on June 15th

 

We hope to have a get-together before all our members and friends literally "fly off to the ends of the earth on the four winds"…and it is our experience that after the time of the mid-summer’s sun festival (June 23), it is very difficult to find people around! Therefore we are planning a "Bring and Braai" at Themba and Anne Gunn Sibeko’s home on Saturday, June 15th from 4p.m.

Bring what you want to braai and braai what you bring! Take along your own drinks as well. We would also appreciate that each family takes with them a dish to share (like a salad, bread, cake or some such.) Rosemary will be co-ordinating what people bring so we don’t have 15 dishes that are the same! Please call her at tel: 22 61 41 91 to let her know what dish you plan to share with others.

Here’s how you get to Themba’s:

By bus: Bus 321 (towards Lillestrøm) leaves Oslo bus terminal at 15:20 (leaves Carl Bernersplass at 15:31 and Aker Sykehus at 15:36) and gets you to Landskronaveien at 16:06. Next bus is an hour later. Or you can take Bus 333 (towards Nannestad) at 15:37 and get off at Olavsgaard. Switch there to bus 321, which leaves right away to Landskronaveien. Lots of return bus times to choose from.

By car: Alt. A

  1. Take E6 towards Trondheim and drive about 18 – 20 Km.

  2. Watch for a sign that says Hvam Krysset, Highway 22, Hellerudsletta Hotell. Leave E6 at this exit.

  3. Stay in the right lane and turn right. Stay again in the extreme right lane and turn right on to Nordbyveien towards Skjetten.

  4. After a few meters you’ll pass a Toyota building on your left. Turn right on to Landskronaveien.

  5. Follow the street past red and yellow town houses on either side of the street. Landskronaveien 35 is at the end of the street on your right.

By car: Alt. B

  1. Go to Sinsenkrysset (circle) and go north on Trondheimsv (Highway 4 towards Gjøvik).

  2. Continue on Trondheimsv, until you get to the circle at Gjelleråsen. Turn right here onto Highway 22

  3. After you pass the turnoff for Lahaugmoen, take the first road to the right. This is Bråteveien (just before Hellerudsletta).

  4. Continue on this road until the E6 underpass, after which you turn left.

  5. Turn immediately to the left again at the bus stop.

  6. You are now on Landskronaveien.

  7. The first entrance to the buildings straight ahead of you is where Themba lives. (Red town houses.)
