AFSG MISSION

The Air Force Sub Group (AFSG), as a
multi-national group of training experts,
will support the NATO Training Group by
providing a forum to discuss and develop
cooperative training arrangements within
the NATO Training Group dealing with Air
Force requirements. The AFSG is
responsible for discussing and developing
cooperative training arrangements
tailored to Air Force requirements. In
addition to the continuing main effort on
joint jet pilot training which has been
in operation for many years, aircrew
human factors and air operational
training have broadened the spectrum of
the AFSG's activities. Accordingly, work
is now organized in the Aircrew Human
Factors Working Group.
RESPONSIBILITIES

The AFSG will be responsible to the NATO
Training Group through the Chairman, NATO
Training Group. The AFSG will identify and recommend
suitable projects, present and future, for consolidation of training within
the NATO Group through bi-lateral or multi-lateral cooperative training
arrangements. These actions should be accomplished without prejudice to
bi-lateral or multi-lateral training arrangements already in existence.
The AFSG will work in conjunction and close collaboration with the other
NATO Training Sub Groups should this become necessary. After each meeting,
the AFSG will submit a report to the Chairman, NATO Training Group. These
reports will include, as appropriate, recommendations for consideration by
the Chairman and the NATO Training Group.
METHOD OF WORK
The AFSG will meet at least twice
annually, at dates and places announced
by the AFSG Chairman, after coordination
with the members of the Sub Group. The
Chairman, NATO Training Group will be
duly informed. The AFSG may establish ad-hoc
working groups as necessary to pursue the
business of the AFSG. The AFSG has one
permanent Working Groups, reporting
directly to the AFSG, the Aircrew Human
Factors Working Group (AHFWG)
