| Mr. Finn Haldorsen brought with him two excellent examples of cask strength whiskies: "Laphroaig" owned by Allied Domecq. and "Aberlour" owned by Campbell Distillers. The Laphroaig, an Islay Whisky, was 57,3% vol. and came "Straight from the Wood". It had both a distinct and powerful taste. The "Aberlour", a Speyside Whisky, was 57,1% vol. and was also noted for it's powerful bouquet. Some members noted that a dash of water helped to bring out the full aroma of these Whiskies, while other members enjoyed the full experience these Whiskies offered.
