Stop the press!
I am currently not maintaining/updating my home page.
In November 2004, this little girl by the name of Helene was borne. She is a sweet
little girl, but she is not
leaving her parents much spare time...
My life...
So now, what should a person put, or not put,
on her homepage? A short life review must be a decent start (don't worry, there
is not much to say, so it won't be long)
The beginning I was born in Stavanger (South-West Norway (North
Europe)) in "the summer of 69". I am a farmgirl from Norway! My family
can be admired here.
A panorama picture from a small hilltop, next to my parents' house can be seen
here: Winter, Summer.
When College time arrived, it was about time to move. I spent my first 3 years
studying electrical engineering at HiA
(Grimstad, Norway), the
next three years to reach a M.Sc in Electrical and Computer Engineering at UCSB
(California,
USA). I am now back in Norway, currently living (with Arild and our daughter
Helene) in the outskirts of Oslo (the
capital).
My job
My
first job was with Ericsson in
Norway (1994 - 2003). I did NOT work with cellular phones!! It is possible to work for
Ericsson without being involved with cellular phones. I was a
software/firmware developer for a product that measures the quality of service
on a normal telephone line. For the time being (since
August -99) I have been studying for a PhD in telecommunication. I am studying at UNIK. More details about the
topic of my research can be found here.
(The picture shows some of my
hard-thinking (former) colleagues at Ericsson :-D )
Spare time
I am interested in
just about everything, and want to do just about everything. This results in me
having many hobbies, but none which I get seriously involved in. The ones listed
on my hobbies page, are some of my more favorite
hobbies.
One hobby that needs a few extra comments is my need-, want-, interest- for
observing and experiencing cultures different from my own. This need brings me
to different corners of the world. My traveling
page gives travel accounts from some of my travels.

Ganden monastery in Tibet)
