Canoe trip in Nordmarka

00.28.07 - 00.30.07

One warm summer weekend we (Arild and me)  paddled the waterway through "Nordmarka", the backcountry next to Oslo. The route we chose is a classic paddling route in this area ("Mylla" to "Skar"). This does not mean it is a busy route: We met one other canoe going our way. I strongly recommend the trip, however it might be a good idea to use a lightweight canoe. Some of the land-crossings were tough with a heavy canoe. A detailed drawing of the route can be found here.

One car parked at "Skar". Ready to proceed to "Mylla" in my Corolla.
Almost loaded.
Yes! Finally on our way. Paddling into the sunset on a perfect summer day.
Next morning on our first canoe road trip. As long as there was no steep  uphills , it was surprisingly easy to transport the canoe on two wheels like this.
Hmmm? Wasn't there supposed to be a lake here somewhere.  Transporting the canoe on narrow, rocky and muddy forest trails was a challenge...
Early morning fly fishing in "Store Sandungen"
A nice campsite on "Skysskafferodden" Still perfect weather.
Ready for the last half of the route.

Yes! Fish! A nice Trout.

Sunday evening dinner on a small island close to "Skar". A very nice canoe trip is almost over. We were content, but dead-tired!
