J.R.R Tolkien was the first person ever to write fantasy as we know it. He started a whole new genre of literature now enjoyed by so many across the globe. Not only was his work the first of it's like, but it was so very (omfattende). He used his spare time to write down notes, draw scetches and imagining marvelous worlds. He wroten 2 major works during his lifetime and that's "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings". He used much of his time on this and at the same time he actually was a professor teaching english language and litterature at Oxford University.
He was born 1892 in southern Africa and he passed away september the 2nd 1973. He never got to finish his last work "Quenta Simarillion". It was later finished by his son Christopher Tolkien and was called "Silmarillion". To complete the book he had to use his fathers notes wich was in enormous quantities. Later he published more of his notes in a serie called "The History of Middle-earth" as well as a book called "Unfinished Tales". All books have been printed in many editions and in many languages.
Tolkiens world is a magical, fantastic world with strange animals and is about the fight between good and evil. Enjoy the books as many else have done. If you don't like Tolkien, you won't like fantasy. It's a perfect place for beginners to get to know the genre.
