AgilityAs a miniature schnauzer I am obliged to be a quick and frisky little fellow. Belive me; I am. I really enjoy speed and excitement, especially if it can lead me up in the height. This has "worried" my owner, so now I'm allowed to train agility. This way I can jump around under controlled conditions. Well, that's the human way of thinking. I don't care what the thought behind is as long as something happens. The biggest challenge is not me, but my owner's physical condition. There I have some job to do. Seeking gameI've also started a seeking game. Someone hides good food somewhere in the living room, and I have to find it. I love it! It gives an edge to the senses Obedience trainingA former hobby of mine with less action was obedience training. This was not among my favourites, but my human being thought it was useful for me. To this I have only one comment: "Lay down, lay down, stay there, lay down..." It made me kind of unpatient. Anyway, I have negotiated myself away from this hobby. Dog showsAnother hobby my owner thought I should attend to was dog shows. (Human beings have a tendency to believe that they understand what kind of hobby a dog ought to have. This is called over-estimating oneself, isn't it?) I tried dog shows twice. First time went well. The next went bad. The judge thought I was too big. Well, well! These things happends in life. I'll just say as the Norwegian poet, Inger Hagerup (only in opposite sign):

Me and my sister Aisha playing (on the right hand: me) ![]() ![]() PlayingWhat ever hobby, the fun is most important for me. Ribbons and stuff is for my owner to enjoy. I simply love to play. My home is filled with toys. They are everywhere (when I can decide what a home should look like). Have mercy on those who doesn't play with me if they kick one of my toys! My favourite toys are: the turquoise ball with the strange sound in it, the red ball with the jingle in it, the yellow ball with peep, and the tennis ball. I also like the beepmouse and the rubber hen (they are impossible to bite in two). Not to forget "tofsa", the half dead thread knot... and all the eaten chewing bones... and empty toilet rolls with dog snacks wrapped inside of them... and a pillow when I am alone at home... The world is full of things to play with :) |
