いらっしゃいませ — welcome!

This is the website of Oslo Kyūdō Kyōkai, a dōjō for traditional Japanese archery in Oslo, Norway. As we are a local club and the website primarily aims at the interested Norwegian public, currently all text information is in Norwegian.

We do however register quite a few international visitors, and may eventually come up with an English version. In the meantime, please bear with us; you may enjoy the pictures, follow our links - and don't miss the excellent essay on "The Myth of Zen in the Art of Archery" by Prof. Yamada. It was published in an updated and authorised English translation by Earl Hartman, edited by William M. Bodiford, in the Japanese Journal of Religious Studies, Spring 2001, 28/1-2 and is available as a pdf file from
www.nanzan-u.ac.jp/SHUBUNKEN/publications/jjrs/pdf/586.pdf

For all you englishspeaking kyūdōka out there we recommend E. Clay Buchannan's "The Kyudo Project Incorporated" (eclay.netwiz.net), that definitely lives up to its motto "dedicated to spreading timely and accurate information about Kyudo" and the website of Earl Hartman's Seishinkan Kyudojo which contains very interesting Japanese texts in English translation.

If you have any questions about our dōjō or about kyūdō, please feel free to send us an e-mail:

kyudo@start.no

And: If you are a foreigner on a shorter or longer stay in Oslo and already practice kyūdō: You are most welcome to train with us, just drop us a line!
