INTRODUCTION

The national records ranking by quality points and the Norwegian all time best combinations for running men, are based on my homemade multievents tables. The point of departure is a zero point a little bit in front of the WR in each event. During the last years, the WR in 200, 5000, 10 000, TJ and JT have broken the sound barrier, so minuspoints have also to be used. In javelin all records are converted back to pre-86, and in those private statistics I am also using the unofficial 1991- version.

100m: 9.5/9.74 0.1 sec = 1.130p
200m: 19.1/19.34 0.1 sec = 0.500p
400m: 42.5/42.64 0.1 sec = 0.220p
800m: 1.40.30 0.8 sec = 1p
1500m: 3.25.50 1.7 sec = 1p
3000m: 7.20.00 4.0 sec = 1p
5000m: 12.45.00 7.0 sec = 1p
10 000m: 26.27.00 160 sec = 1p
110mh: 12.4/12.64 0.1 sec = 0.590p
400mh: 46.2/46.34 0.1 sec = 0.200p
3000ms: 7.49.00 5.0 sec = 1p
HJ: .2,48 1 cm = 0.312,5
PV: .6,20 10 cm = 1p
LJ: 9.00 12.5 cm = 1p
TJ: 18.20 20 cm = 1p
SP: 23.65 54 cm = 1p
DT: 74.10 160 cm = 1p
HT: 87.00 200 cm = 1p
JT/pre-86: 105.00 230 cm = 1p
JT/new: 95.85 ca.191.8 cm = 1p
4x100m: 36.9/37.04 0.3 sec = 1p
4x400m: 2.52.50 1.6 sec = 1p

*70 m with new implement gives 74 m on my converting table, and the meter value is 1,20 m.

3000 m flat is not included in the quality point system.

In the main ranking of NR's by quality points, countries with records in all the 20 events are coming first, nations missing one event in 2nd group, and so on. To compare the level in countries with different number of recordevents, you must look at the averagepoints and -ranking. From Guadeloupe, Martinique and French Guyana there are no official NR's avilable, so I am just using the best results from the French lists plus private sources. In the divisionsystem for men and women 3000m flat is included.
Countries with missing events are loaded with handicaps by detailed rules.
Comparing f.ex. Finland and Norway's records for men, we will find that Finland is the strongest in 12 of the events, and Norway in 9 of them. That means 3-0 to Finland. Victory gives 2 points, draw 1 to each. When all the countries in one division have met in this way, something like a halfseason footballtable will be created. The winner climbes one division up, the number 10-country one down. Sometimes 2 or even more countries can advance, and it is also possible to go more than one division up.
Division system for men are updated two times a year.
The ladies division tables are updated once a year.

Handkept records in sprint and hurdlesprint are still in use.
