Jensen 541S
1960 to 1964
The last series of the 541-cars, introduced in october 1960. This car had
increased width between chassis rails, and a new suspension to give a wider
track front and back, which also increased comfort and interior room a great
deal. The car was fitted with seatbelts, as the first car sold in the
British isles. Used the same austin-engine, but was fitted witn a Rolls
Royce four-speed automatic transmission. This drove a Power-Lok limited slip
differential.
The car came with radio, first aid kit, fire estinguisher and twin spot
lamps. The car was especially luxurious for its time.
The total 541S production was 127.
Gearbox: Four-speed Rolls-Royce
Hydramatics usual on the 541S.
Max speed was 122 mph (180 km/h).
The swivelling flap in the front was replaced with a a grille.
One was fitted with a Chrysler V8 327 cubic engine.
