To Ydmyke Krigere, 260 m, Mobudalen, Norway.
FA: 9/3-2006, Kristen Reagan and Mikjel Thorsrud.

Mobudalen, close to Eidfjord in Sogn og Fjordane, got its breakthrough as an iceclimbing destination this season when Will Gadd and Andreas Spak discovered the areas great potential. Some of the most obvious lines were sent within a few days, but the most tasty-looking one was not. It was a 250 meter line; the upper 200 m a pure pillar of white ice, making a 90 degrees angle with the horizon. It was the most spectacular line we have ever seen. Gadd and Spak was tempted enough to give it a try even in bad conditions, and were forced to retreat when attacked by missiles of ice (read Gadds story here ). 9th of Mars offered us better conditions during a period of cold weather in the western parts of Norway, and we seized the opportunity to make the first ascent. No doubt living in Norway is a great advantage!
