The bell is a ceramic bell, height and width 16 cm. A solenoid
(electric magnet) throws the wooden ball against the bell when a carefully
tuned current pulse is applied to the solenoid. Electronics generates a
series of pulses when someone push my doorbell button.

The bell is a large brass bell, height approximately 25 cm. A motor
turns the large wooden wheel. A thin nylon thread winds up on the smaller
"wheel" on the left side of the big wheel and pulls the hammer to the side.
When almost one turn has been wound up, a triangular wooden part pushes
the thread off the small wheel, and the hammer is released. The sound is
very loud.
