My name is Gustav Lorentzen.

In 1970 my friend Øystein Dolmen and I formed the folk/pop duo "Knutsen & Ludvigsen".

Lately, two different polls by music professionals and rock jounalists

have ranked our record Juba Juba among the 20 best albums ever made in Norway.

Not bad for a children's record!

Since 1986 I have  gone solo. Of my 5 solo CDs, 4 won Norwegian Grammies

(best record of the year for children)

and the 5th won a nomination.

I have written a wide range of  novels, poetry, and

books about as different topics as racism and farting.

I am appointed Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF.

In my work for UNICEF I have made special efforts in these fields:

• The Convention on the Rights of the Child

• Fight against racism

• Fight against landmines

• Active use of culture in the rehabilitation of war traumatized children
