Its incredible how fast time passes when you are having fun. The last months have been a sweet mix of loads of work, refurbishing my appartment, and not to much more.

Visited Scotland in February together with Grethe, just a short 4 day visit, but got to see abit of both Edinburgh and Glasgow. Had a brilliant and interesting stay mostly focused around sightseeing and shopping =)

Music at the moment, a genious: Dave Navarro.

Christmas vacation in Vesterålen is great. Loads and loads of snow, -5 to -10 degrees - all the right weather for celebrating christmas.

I've been out playing in the snow with Stein - my brothers oldes son - all day the last couple of days. He's wearing me out and still he has loads of energy left. Being an uncle is hard work =)

I just love the good-real winter - one of the things I miss the most when living in Oslo.
Merry Christmas.

News flash: The license plates of my car was stolen - and replaced - sometime during this weekend. I'll be out, hunting down the stupid fuck got them ;)

Fer cryin' out loud - I'm at a blogging speed of one blog a month. It's not that I don't have anyting to write about as much as I don't have the time and energy. Refurbishing the appartment is more work than I could have imagined - just choosing the colors is hard work.

I've re-discovered Jeff Buckley again - been listening to his records for the last week and still can't seam to get enough ;)

The montly weather update: 2degrees (warm for the year, but still bloddy cold), no snow, no rain - loads of road salt to make sure the roads are cleared from ice.. I feel bad for my car every day I use it in the winter.

Music just now: The Olivia Tremor Control - Animation music, great cd!

Yes, it's been av week since I returned from a week in the US. Norway - both Oslo and Trondheim is getting colder, but still there has been no snow.

I still haven't got my ass out of the coach to put some of the equipment onto the car. I'm in Trondheim visiting my girlfriend at the moment, but I hope to get started on the installation of the Boost and Exhaust Gas Temp gauges next week. I might just fit the new high capacity walbro fuel pump while I'm at it =)

Grethe, so you don't forget - I love you.

New day, new posibilities. just got my computer up and running again for the first time since last post. loads of things has happend since my last post, but I'm not sure if I want to spell it out.

I saw Santana last Saturday. full of energy, but the whole show got boring in the end. ended up drinking more beer and listening less to music.

Yepp, it's been a while, it's supposed to be summer right now, but Oslo hasn't seen much sun yet. It has been kind of sunny the last couple of days, but today its all rainy again.

Today is my last day of work, summer vacation is comming up! I'll be leaving for a weekend of offroading in Skövde together with Agnar, Tommy and Odd Martin. This is actually the last test before we are off to drive Sweden Offroad in two weeks. in between I'm going to Trondheim to celebrate my dads 50th birthday together with Grethe and my brothers. the outline of a great summer vacation is drawn ;-)

Guess I should mention it.. I've refurbished my bedrom now, just tiny bits left.. new sliding door, moved the door, new roof, new floor, new everything. it became very nice.. glad to be finished though, since it took quite alot of energy to keep working in the evenings.

It't time to get back home and finish packing. we'll hopefully be leaving Oslo around 1 pm.

I just have to spell out this song, havent found the lyrics elsewhere, thus this is my very own transcription.

The White Stripes - It's True That We Love One Another
Well its true that we love one another
I love Jack White like a little brother.
well Holly I love you too, but its just so much that I don't know about you.
Jack give me some money to pay my bills.
All the bill I give you holly you've been using on painkills.
Jack do you call me if your able
I got your phone no written in the back of my basal(?)
Jack I think you pulling my leg, and I think maybe I better ask Meg
Meg do you think Jack really loves me?
you know I don't care coz Jack really bugs me
why don't you ask him now?
well I would but Meg, I really dont just don't know how
just say jack do you adore me?
well I would Holly, but love really bores me
then I guess we should just be friends
I'm just kidding Holly, you know that I love you till the end
well its true that we love one another, i love Jack White like a little brother
well Holly I love you too, but its just so much that I don't know about you
Holly give me some of your english love,
If I did that Jack I don't want any other
why don't you go out and love your self
if I did that Holly it won't be anything left for anybody else
Jack, its to bad about the way that you look,
you know I gave that horse a carrot so he'd breake your foot
will the two of you cut it out, and tell'em what its really all about.
well, its true that we love one another, I love Jack White like a little brother
well Holly I love you too, but its just so much that I dont know about you.

woo, jolly good, was that jolly good, jolly good. cup of tea then, Bruce

There are probably loads of misprints and misunderstandings throughout the text, but the main think, I love this song!

It seams like I'm getting responsible and grown up these days. I've bought a small apartment at Hovseter in Oslo, and I'm already in the prosess of refurbishing and moving in. It's a quite nice feeling to finally have my own place, and be able to do just what ever I want with it! I haven't really desided how I want it yet, but I guess I'll get there soon.

There are quite a few sweet concerts in Oslo this spring, and I'm going to see Placebo the 29th of May. I also want to see The White Stripes on the 13th of May, but haven't found anybody to drag along yet. hopefully that won't be a problem. their new album "Elephant" sounds like an album that I will like for quite a while. it has got much of the same well known white stripes-sound, just a tad different. I'll get back with more details when I've listened through the album a few more times.

Yepp, thats all for now. I have to get back into the moving business =)

Still alive. Ben Harper is a genious. My fetish for Placebo is still strong, and life is mostly smiling. Nada Surf is well worth every penny. go buy all their albums.

Happy NewYear! damn, december passed quickly. I've had 2 weeks of holidays up north in Vesterålen and got back just the other day. Morten and Veronica has made me uncle again, uncle to a tiny babygirl named Cecilie! I guess I don't have to tell, but I'm pretty damn prowd! It was really strange, and very fun to be around them all Christmas. Stein has grown alot since last summer, and his speaking has improved alot!

I have the flue, I'm cold, I'm at work, I'm freaking out. welcome to another fucked up day in a fucked up life.

I'm listening to A Perfect Circle at the moment, and it feels good. havent been listening to them for a while now.. almost had forgotten the grovy sound ;-)

note: it's less than a month till christmas.

Argh.. I've had my car parked more or less the last month, since the summer tyres aren't to good on the winter ice and snow. today, when I finally came around to do something about it, drive it home to get the wintertyres, still on the icy-snowy road - risking my life, and others, it turns out the workshop cant do it until tomorrow, which means more dangerous driving and so on. I'll probably by an extra set of aluminium alloys for the summertyres some day, that way I'd be able to change them myself. but it's always a matter of costs. well.. you ain't got more fun than you make yourself.

Wanted noise for my pleasure
Grant Lee Buffalo - Mighty Joe Moon (Demon Called Deception)
Apples in Stereo - Velocity of Sound
Sigur Rós - ( )
Madrugada - Grit

At the time being, I'm the one working my ass of, spending less and less time on the net. it's quite sad, but I guess it's the way it has to be. on the other hand, I've been to three different countries in three weeks. working of course, but still a little bit fun.

Monday, October 21, 2002

I know, I haven't been updating to often lately. alot of things happens and internet havent been the place I've spent most time the last month. Last Saturday Grethe invited me to see Sigur Rós with her at Betong.

Betong is a small student live scene capable of about 350-400 people, and it was the perfect place to see Sigur Rós! I'll remember the experience a long, long time.

It looks like I might be updating more seldom from now on. my work-schedule the next couple of weeks looks kind of tough. next week will be spent on a course to learn rhetoric, and the week after I will be in some outskirt of France (yes, the country.), called Vichy or something similar ;-)

Should be fun, but scarce time-resources will make it busy too.

Yepp, thats it, off to listen to Sigur Rós, and so should you, whoever you are ;)

Wednesday, September 25, 2002

So, you thought I was dead now, didn't you? I'm sorry for my lack of updates, but the last couple of weeks has been quite busy. both Copenhagen and London was stunning, and I had a great time whilst there! London was a little bit crowded for me, but I liked the contry-side of Bracknell quite good.

I started working for Statnett Technology on Monday (the 23rd of September), and it brought some changes to my work-day. everything is more hectic than it used to be, and I'm not used to think money all the time. I like it ;)

The first couple of days has been spent reading and asking questions. I get the hang of terms slow but steady. Sigur Rós has kept me company the last week, and he does a great job. I love their Agælis byrjun-album and play it most of the time whilst at work.

I also got my "graduate-ring" from NTNU today, it feels abit big, but I guess I'm just not used to were rings and shit like that. cheers and take care.

Wednesday, September 11, 2002

The 11th of September, it's a year since I spent the whole day in front of my computer - reading about the tragedy in the twin towers. time has passed by fast. I'm leaving for Copenhagen, Denmark later today. hopefully Bin Laden and his brainwashed religious supporters leave my plane alone.

Further I have a flight for London on Friday, the 13th. wish me luck.

I will be listening to In The Aeroplane Over The Sea during the flight, but at the moment I feel more like listening to Coldplay - don't panic. The lyrics should have been changed to something like: We _lived_ in a beautiful world. I'll be the one trying to shove my fist up the hijackers ass, just to see if he can take it.

I might be back from Copenhagen / London / Coventry on Wednesday the 18th of September. take care.

Woohoo, blogger has been a pain in the ass lately, and I've forgotten what I wanted to say. anyways I spent last weekend in Trondheim visiting friends at "Steinan". here and here are some pictures from the first party of the year at "Huset".

Last night, half asleep, I kicked my right wrist into the coach. now it's all swollen up and it hurts whenever I move it around. I can still move my toes, which indicates that nothing is broken but it is annoying anyway. if I lived in usa I could probably sue the manufacturer of the coach, and I'd be rich within the week. but this is Norway, pay-your-own-bills-and-get-back-to-work-country. I still love it.

I'm listening to The Olivia Tremor Control and I really enjoy their weird sound. Yo La Tengo - El Chico Con La Espina En El Costado is another favorite.

Sailing Through
Sailing through your disease and you
Your disease and you
Your body's like a basket
Shivering in static
Ride this phase of angry tears
All those years you were alive inside the closet
With nobody in it there but me
But now you are coming
Your life is off running
Tearing itself apart at the seams

And you are a liar
You are a liar
You are a liar
And you are a lie
You are a liar
You are a liar

Now I'm off sailing
Sickness impaling
Every drop of blood you could bleed
The world is all coming
They're coming in millions
Billions of people to sick to believe
And I really wanted just to be in your body
To be in your body
To be inside you
And I really wanted just to be in your body
To share in your sickness
To shield around you

But you are a liar
You are a liar
You are a liar
And you are a lie
You are a liar
You are a liar
You are a liar
And you are a lie

Wrap you up in master
Cover you in plaster
Spit in your mouth and then say "I love you"
But is this supposed to save us?
Is this supposed to break us
And I really wanted just to be in your body
I really want to be in your body
I really want to be inside you
And I really wanted just to be in your body
To share in your sickness
To shield around you

But you are a liar
You are a liar
You are a liar
And you are a lie
You are a liar
You are a liar
You are a liar
And you are a lie
You are a liar
You are a liar
You are a liar
And you are a lie
You are a liar
You are a liar
You are a liar
And you are a lie

An excelent review of Neutral Milk Hotel can be found here

I spent quite som time searching for the lyrics to Sailing Through last night, without any luck. maybe I'll have to spell it out myself?

Aiaiai, interview of Jeff Mangum, genius behind Neutral Milk Hotel from February, 2002.

Neutral Milk Hotel
is one of the few bands that really touches me. I can't explain it at all, but every time I play anything NMH I seem to sink into some strange mood where I just exist for the music. it's absolutely incredible. NMH is part of the elephant6 collective, with alot of great music.

I just discovered this discussion forum, which is a great source of NMH knowledge.

If anybody has any live-video of Neutral Milk Hotel or The Olivia Tremor Control, I'm dying to see it.

And one day we will die
And our ashes will fly from the aeroplane over the sea
But for now we are young
Let us lay in the sun
And count every beautiful thing we can see
Love to be
In the arms of all I'm keeping here with me

Travis.com - travel agency with cheap flights all over the world. ok, I want a flight from Oslo to Trondheim, mid September. travis.com returns the cheapest option, which is Alyemen Air Of Yemen. 1) I have never heard of them, 2) when the fuck did they start any route between Oslo and Trondheim, and 3) why haven't I heard about it before?

I tried to look up some more information of Alyemen Air, but I couldn't find anything about them. is there any others out there who have traveled with Alyemen Air og know anything about it, please let me know. I don't have a death wish, but NOK 600 for a return ticket is cheap.

I might fly with them anyways. I'm thinking, if the plane should be in bad shape as a result of poor maintainance, it probably won't fall down during the short trip from Trondheim to Oslo. After all, that is just a tiny part of the total distance to Yemen, which I believe (no evidence here) is the origin of these flights. just a thought.
