http://www.nature.com/news/2004/040927/full/040927-10.htmlThe most recent common ancestor of all humanity lived just a few thousand years ago, according to a computer model of our family tree. Researchers have calculated that the mystery person, from whom everyone alive today is directly descended, probably lived around 1,500 BC in eastern Asia.
Something to think about...

Dear [name removed to protect the ignorant]Just because I haven't seen you in a month doesn't mean I'm 'becoming antisocial' or 'need to get out more'. I actually have other friends that I see on a regular basis. Believe it or not, the world doesn't revolve around you.

Gah, everything annoys me today. The cats piss me off just by looking at me, and I can barely resist the urge to tell everyone exactly how moronic they are. To top it all off the goddamn baby downstairs won't stop crying, and I'm out of diet coke. Somebody shoot me.Linda @ 4:41 PM

Bleh, I think I'm coming down with something again. Head hurts, throat is starting to get sore and I feel like I've been hit by a truck... On the positive side Tales of Symphonia finally arrived today. I'm probably more excited about this game than I should be, because it's not really my genre... But I really wanted a new game for my GC, and I've heard good thing about this one. We'll see ;)[edit] I couldn't have been more right about it not being my kind of game. It sucks.

I hate weekends. Why you ask? Because people refuse to leave me alone. I'm sick and tired of partying, and I'd rather wipe my ass with my money than spend it on drinks. But people don't seem to get that, and they keep calling me all friggin weekend to persuade me to go partying with them. One of these days I'm going to snap and either kick someone in the balls or throw my phone off a bridge.Linda @ 10:54 AM

This is interesting:http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/3645576.stm
"Along with the potentially devastating physical damage that a stroke can cause, a little known and rare consequence can be the loss of dreaming.
What a nightmare that must be (no pun intended ;p). I'd go insane if I didn't have my dreams to get stuff out of my system...

I hate grocery shopping. Mostly because I don't have a car and have to carry everything home, but also because it's really frustrating to have to spend all that money on something as boring as food. I would be so much closer to a new computer if I didn't have to eat every day.Linda @ 5:11 AM

Dear mailman,Could you please try to deliver the mail in a timely manner? I know you're probably hung over and not in any condition to drive before noon, but it's a little hard for me to get to the post office and pick up my packages when the pickup notice doesn't get here until after it's closed. Thank you.
Oh, and I won't ask this nicely next time.

I'm probably the only one on the planet who's not raving over Fable. For some reason it just doesn't appeal to me at all... A game I really want though is Syberia II. Syberia is by far the best game I've ever played, so I have really high hopes for the sequel. I just hope my poor old computer can handle it... I'm so getting myself a new one for christmas.Linda @ 9:02 AM

I love surfing through people's websites, and blogs in particular. But there are a couple of things that annoy me endlessly:1. Pages that scroll sideways. What's up with that?
2. Full screen windows. I'd like to decide the size of my windows myself, thankyouverymuch.
3. Sites designed for 1024x768 (or higher). I mean come on, most people use 800x600. And even if they don't, layouts designed for 800x600 still look good (more or less) in higher resolutions. Layouts designed for 1024x768 on the other hand, look like crap in 800x600.
...and the most annoying annoyance of them all:
4. Background music. I hate this so much I'll make it my life mission to remember the URL forever and ever to make sure I never visit again. A lot of people, like me, listen our own music while we're online (or prefer to surf in silence). We're not even remotely interested in some teenybopper midi file.
*steps off soapbox*

I've decided to get my own domain, but naturally none of the names I've come up with are available... And the one I really want (chocolatecoffee.com) is registered by someone who doesn't even use it *grumble*. Oh well, I guess I'll have to think of something else...

Waaah, I really really really want The Sims 2... But naturally my crappy old computer is nowhere near meeting the system requirements, so I guess that'll have to wait (until I win the lottery :p). To cheer myself up I went out and got the Unleashed expansion pack for Sims 1, but I must be missing something because it's not as much fun as I thought it would be... Bleh.Linda @ 1:21 AM

Meh. I decided to redo the layout a little to make it work in most browsers... It's not exactly what I wanted, but at least it doesn't look like crap in Mozilla anymore. Resolutions on the other hand is a different matter... It doesn't look too good in anything other than 800x600, but I'm not even going to try and fix that.Anyway, I hereby declare this blog officially open :)
