We are Liv & Jan Fridtjofsen. We live in Skatval, Norway, close to the Trondheim Int. Airport. We live in the country side, close to a fjord and our home is surrounded by farmer's land and woods. Liv: I was born April 30 1951, married Jan March 16 1968. We have two daughters; - Heidi Elisabeth (1968) og Trude Cristin (1969). I stayed home with the girls until they started school, and have been working as a secretary since.
I have since 1977 had a lot of engagements in Norwegian dog clubs. I was the Chihuahua representative in the Norwegian Toy Dog Club from 1993 to 1995, editor of the Norwegian Toy Dog Club's Newsletter in 1994 and 1995. I have been the editor of the Chihuahua-Nytt (newsletter for Chihuahua members in the Norw. Toy Dog Club) from 1992. I am glad I had the opportunity to judge at two different Regional Chihuahua Specialties (Open Shows) in Sweden.
Jan: I was born July 5th 1946. I am a terminal chief superior at the railway station in Trondheim since 1968.
I was authorized as a ring steward in 1978, and during the years I have been lucky to get to know a lot of breed judges from nearly all over the world.
Once I thought I would like to be educated as a judge myself, but my work took, and still takes, so much of my time, that I had to consider. Still, I have been taken some opportunities to judge at Open Shows and Puppy Shows all over the country.
This site I've planned to use for dealing my thoughts as a steward only, but when I'm in the mood, there can appear other thoughts and ideas!
We got our first dog; - a Newfoundland male in 1975. We started showing in 1976 and had our first Newfoundland litter in 1981. We have produced Best in Show placers, Group winners, Specialty winners and the number of Newfoundland champions. Many of our Newfs were sold to pet homes, just to be loving companions. Our last Newfie litter, until now, was born in 1989.
We got our first Chihuahua; - a red smooth coat female, Int Norw., Swed. & Finish Ch. Yamany's Mona Lisa, in 1986, and very soon we were hooked! She turned out to be the start of our breeding, as she was the dam of our 3 first litters.
