    The Waterfalls

So we finally got a day off, and rented a car.. to set out into the great unknown. Well, hardly unknown really, since our destination is The Tourist-spot in this here province. Oh well..

Of the many snaps taken from the car, only this came out..this mostly due to "average" chinese driving and "good" Chinese highways
    Taken from the car

Spring comes early, and in March Guizhou is already...Yellow! Acres upon acres of rapeseed made the trip a colourful one.
    Rapeseed fields

This is not the first we saw of the waterfalls, but a glimpse through the barb-wire fence.. Doesn't carry the same connotations.
    A glimpse through the trees

See, Hanggoushuo is a "paysite", and a very attractive one, so the whole valley is fenced in.. there will be no free peeks.
    ..good glimpse too.

Since everybody else was lining up to take a photo at this spot, we figured we had to too.. not wanting to stick out.
    Miss Camerashy

We did a lot of descending.. but thanks to the Chinese notion of preserving nature.. down wide and sturdy stonepaved steps.
    Descending

Our principals daughter, the only one that really enjoys herself in front of the camera.
    Jackie the poser

The long anticipated visit to the Hang Guo Shu falls were only hindered by a ticket office and a tall barb-wire fence. The ticket office was displaying some fairly amusing english, as you can see here

Note the "lumber" railing.. It's actually concrete!
    Getting close

It wouldn't be a good tourist-spot if you couldn't walk behind the waterfalls.. would it now?
    Under the falls

Had to wait a bit for the sun to show itself.. and for some reason it waited till we were behind the falls.
    Rainbow too..

Because bits and pieces were actually nice.
    A bit spellbinding

Which was a good thing to have.. that way one could edit out the spotlights and the neon set around the waterfalls, readied for a moody evening.
    We've got zoom!

    This one's for my parents.....
    Try to smile..

Wasn't much else to do, other than to snap pics.. Notice how the sun dissapeared as soon as we came out on the other side of the falls.
    to the Waterfalls.

The waterfalls are, according to our guide.. the 3rd largest in the world. And I'm pretty sure that's very high and very wide.
    Then...

The falls weren't carrying much water though.. and the locals dissapointed us by telling that it would be a fair bit larger in a month.
    backing up the stairs

Pausing only to admire the toilets, who were astoundingly clean, and carried a scent of vanilla. Sensational for China. Take my word.
    ...we left

If you find these pics boring, bear in mind that it was a waterfall.. Not a bloody circus..
