  • They did this the whole day..
    A fly-by

When they were not resting, that is..
    An old plane

A lot of people with nothing better to do...
    ..and people came

We had more than a day to kill in New Zealand, and what better way to do it than to stare up at the baking sun for hours on end? (Click thumbs for larger image.)

But they took forever to fill up..
    Going places

Good thing it wasn't the same plane the whole day..
    Flying the other way

Formation - going straight up; for some reason..
    Airy friends

While the sun generously handed out blisters and migranes, the commentator at the show did his best to educate us - I must sheepishly admit that I don't remember jack.

    These were noisy buggers..
    And their neighbours

    The air-show was good neck-exercise
    Look! a plane..

    Wendy, I can flyyy..
    and a Helicopter

Several luke-warm hot-dogs later.. (the lines at the Hot-Dog stands - incidently - were up to an hour long.) ...Things were still pretty much in the air.

Hang on guys - I'm falling behind..
    Four planes

So that's why all the fire-trucks were there.
    Faking a war.

The planes could - but due to dry grass - I COULD NOT!
    Smoking!

Don't get me wrong - I really enjoyed the whole show, but there is nothing I could tell you about planes that a four-year old doesn't already know. I can tell you this much: - Most planes have wheels, and those that don't; well, they don't.

Solid ground - what more can you ask of life?
    Taking a breather

    Yes, they had cars too..
    A car!?

    Something I could relate to.
    And finally..
