Blues in a Cop.

Blue Cops play Policeblues

«Blues in a Cop» is a blues band where the members are policemen. They've played together since 1995, and have an accumulative experience of approximately one century. They play foot-tapping blues with a sting; a great sounding mix of diverse blues genres.

Preventing crime

The combination of police and blues seems rare. But this is an excellent and untraditional way to boost the Police. Why not prevent crime with good music and a great show, or to quote the Norwegian Minister of Culture: «Blues has become a crime remedial action»! They don't always perform in uniforms, but they emphasize at all times that they're serving police blues.

Rough style

Their repertory ranges from the sound of classic blues to psychedelic influenced music with heavy emphasis on guitar leads, echoing the sounds of Chicago, Texas and some Delta blues. In addition to playing the tunes of Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, Willie Dixon, Jimi Hendrix, XXX King and many other legendary artists, «Blues in a Cop» also plays many original songs that have been created in the same vein. Their raw and raunchy performance proves their developing musical talents. They can work their audience into frenzy. Which they do!

Concerts and CDs

«Blues in a Cop» regularly plays in some of the best concert halls/places in Oslo and elsewhere in Eastern Norway. They were the opening band at the «Notodden Blues Festival» in 1997 and visited the festival once again in 1998. They have performed at «The World Police & Fire Games 1999» in Stockholm, «Sandnes Blues Festival 1999», «Ole Blues Music Festival 2002» in Bergen and in several different Blues Club arrangements all over the southern part of Norway. They have also appeared on Norwegian Television and radio a couple of times. This band has established a good and solid reputation both in Oslo and other parts of Norway.

In 1998 they released their first CD «Cuffed on Blues» and in May 2002 «Strong Arm of the Law» was published; the latter with the guest artists Reidar Larsen and RC Finnigan. Both CDs contain their own material. If you like tough blues music, these albums will give you a jolt! Enjoy!
