At this time the printing
quality of Estonian stamps have improved sufficiently to make it easy
to distinguish original from fake stamps. These forgeries are
characterized by lack of precision in hatching, shadows and borders all
over the stamp. The enlarged details shown below are just samples from
the numerous deviations you will find if you study these stamps with a
good magnifier. Currently, I have aquired three fake issues from this set,
and there are probably forgeries of the same poor quality of the whole
set...
I don't think these forgeries
are made by Jaan Lubi - They are uncancelled, and I have never seen
this set described in any of my sources regarding Lubi's work.
