- Bulgarian forgeries -

There are quite a lot of forgeries of Bulgarian stamps. Most of the forgeries, however, are of cheaper stamps and do not receive much interest in philatelic litterature.

An important characteristic of Bulgarian forgeries is the method of perforation. Often the forgers of Bulgarian stamps have been careful to create the correct perforation dimension, but on many of the forgeries the method of line perforation has been used. These can then easily be distinguished from the originals with comb perforation.

- I would like to express my sincere thanks to Henning Pedersen, Denmark, for lending me many of the forgeries you can see in these galleries!
