Belinda’s mum, Laraine Emmett, has followed her daughter’s work ever since she become famous, and she is very proud of her. “We watch and tape all Belinda’s shows”, Laraine says

When Belinda was a child, acting wasn’t something she planned. “She always wanted to sing but auditioned and was chosen for Hey Dad”, Laraine tells. Even though she enjoys both acting and singing, Laraine admits that she thinks Belinda will concentrate on her music career.

Even though fame changes a lot of people, you can’t say that about Belinda. “Fame has never changed her, she has always stayed the same”, Laraine says. And Belinda isn’t the only one in the Emmett family who is famous. Her brother Shane is also an actor and Laraine tells that they have been singing together since they were small. “ Belinda and Shanes grandparents also sing and dance”, Laraine adds.

Laraine and Michael Emmett have often followed their daughter’s appearances live. “Michael and I have been lucky to be invited to special events and premieres that Belinda has attended. Some of them being The Pink Ribbon Ball (for Breast Cancer) The Peoples Choice Awards and the What Women Want Forem”. “Belinda’s singing and professionalism working on shows impress me and so does her courage and strength”, Laraine says proud and ends with a quote Belinda made in Reach for the Stars book
