Asian Dub Foundation - New Way New Life (FFRR)
Releasedate: Mon 22.May 2000
Sunday morning TV and expressions of gratitude to mum and dad might seem odd subject matter for real England's activist new voice but this one's not meant to tear gas the forces of oppression so much as summon up a carnival for friends and family. Off the barricades for a while, Deeder gives a big shout to the first '60s TV show dedicated to Asian issues (Naya Zindagi Naya Jeevan) and applauds the older generation's struggle. Dance music and somethin' to say? Yeah, mixes like tequila and lime juice. It lifts where it should lift, separates and then comes together smilingly. But then anyone not in the pay of Satanic Corporate Illuminati Inc should already have the album. A grinning, reggae-powered, good-times (ahead) monster.
