This genealogy pages is part of my work with families or persons who came to Vadsø and North-Varanger area in the 1800's from Tornio valley. I have started with those who came to the area and traced them back in lines. Mostly I have followed their fathers line back in time, sometimes their mother too. Many of this families or members of the families emigrated to USA after a short or longer period in the Vadsø and North-Varanger area. Other families stayed in the area and many people from Vadsø are descendant from these Swedish\Finnish immigrants. These families are not part of my family, this is only done because of my interest in genealogy and that my hometown Vadsø is the Kven capitol in Norway. Note that this is only information up to the year 1900. What has happend to the families who stayed behind in the region I do not know. The only information I have is mentioned on this pages.
