Click on a city to the left to find who You are looking for. The emigration list contains names of people who emigrated from Finnmark, North-Norway area, via Trondheim between 1867 - 1925 to USA and Canada. The pages for Alta and Vadsø contains more information then the other pages. The names are written as I found them in the emigration lists.

Note for Alta and Vadsø. Many of the cities in USA was very difficult to read or was not readable, so I hope there is not to many miss spelled names of places. From 1900 to 1925 there were less information to get from the emigration lists. Almost all of them emigrated to the northern states in U.S. and/or to the border at USA/Canada to work in the mines or to fish in the Great Lakes. The ship mention in the list is the ship they traveled with to England from Norway. Usually they went to Hull in England, traveled with train to Liverpool and further with boat to the "promised land". The trip took about 3-4 weeks. If they emigrated in the winter season they went ashore in Canada because of the ice on the lake.

Regards,

Trond Ballo
